How to Hide Apps on iPhone 13, 14

On an iPhone, are applications concealable? Absolutely! Any Apple or third-party app may be made invisible by being taken off your Home Screen, hidden from Siri suggestions and search results, and hidden from your App Store purchase history. You may either hide a complete Home Screen page or nest apps within an app folder if you want to conceal numerous apps. We'll demonstrate how to use each approach to conceal an app on your iPhone.

How to Hide Apps on iPhone

If you are using iOS 14 or a later version, your iPhone will come with the App Library. Here's how to store apps away from your Home screen by hiding them in the App Library.

  • The app icon for the one you wish to hide is tapped and held.
  • Tap Remove App on the option that displays.
  • Then there will be another menu. On the Home Screen, choose Remove. By doing this, you may keep the app icon secure in your App Library while removing it from your Home Screen.

The app will be hidden as a result in the iPhone App Library. Now that you've reached your previous Home Screen, swipe left once again to enter your Program Library and type the name of the app you're looking for. You may always change your mind and bring it back to your Home screen because hidden apps in the App Library are simple to locate. Is it possible to hide apps from the app library?

You're out of luck if you're trying to figure out how to conceal apps from the App Library. For as long as an app is installed on your device, you cannot make it disappear from the App Library. As a result, the app will constantly show up when you search your App Library until you uninstall and reinstall it each time you use it.

This won't be a viable choice for most individuals, but in exceptional cases, it could be required. If you've chosen to utilize this option, proceed as described in the preceding section on the App Library and choose "Delete App" from the menu that pops up.

Hide Application from iPhone Search and Smart Suggestions

The iPhone Search feature enables you to search for applications or other material on your smartphone from a single location, while Smart Suggestions makes app recommendations based on your usage habits using Siri. Because of this, a hidden app could appear in search results or recommendation boxes when you'd prefer not to.

Beware: even if you employ this technique, a determined snooper can still access your hidden apps by browsing the App Library. But by completing these steps, you may hide your app even further. Here's how to prevent applications from appearing in iPhone Smart Suggestions and Search:

  • Tap Siri & Search after opening the Settings app.
  • Select the app you wish to hide in the app area by scrolling down.
  • Toggle off Show App in Search and Show Content in Search to make an app and its contents invisible to search. When the toggles are off, they are grey.
  • Toggle off Learn from this App to prevent an app from appearing in Smart Suggestions. Show on Suggest App, Home Screen, and Notifications for Suggestions.

The app and its content won't show up in your search results or smart suggestions after the toggles have been turned off (even if you have the Siri Suggestions widget on your Home Screen).

Follow the instructions above and turn the toggles back on to reveal an app in iPhone Search or Smart Suggestions if you change your mind.

How to Use App Folders to Hide Apps on Your iPhone

  • Making app folders is a smart method to organize your apps on your Home Screen and clear it of clutter! However, I advise utilizing Option How to Hide an Entire Page of Applications if your goal is to conceal many apps. This approach seems easier and more practical to me.
  • The easiest approach to conceal applications in a folder, though, if you choose this option, is to fill the first few pages with the apps you don't want to hide. Here's how to use app folders to conceal apps on your iPhone:
  • Pick an existing iPhone folder (preferably something uninteresting like Tools) or make a new app folder.
  • To enter edit mode, press and hold anywhere on your Home Screen. After that, drag the app you wish to hide into the desired folder.
  • Only the applications on the top page of the folder are visible on the Home screen, so tap to open the folder and then drag the app to the right to put it there.
  • You may make up to 12 pages in a folder, provided that each page contains one app if you really want to bury the app deep inside your folders.

In other words, you may put your program or applications on the 12th page in a folder that has 11 pages of apps you only seldom use. On your iPhone, this strategy certainly leaves some applications visible, but it really makes it difficult for someone to stumble into them.

Now that you are aware of the several ways to conceal an app on an iPhone, you can select the one that best suits your needs. We can also teach you how to detect hidden applications on an iPhone in case you manage to conceal an app too effectively.

How to Hide a Full Page of Apps on an iPhone

My preferred technique for concealing numerous applications is to hide a whole Home Screen page of apps. Drag any applications you want to conceal onto their own Home Screen page before completing the procedures below.

  • Then, adhere to the methods below to discover how to conceal a complete Home Screen page of applications on your iPhone:
  • Enter Edit mode by clicking and holding it anywhere on your Home Screen. Over your dock, tap the Home Screen dots.
  • Your Home screen pages will be visible from above. Tap the checkbox next to a page to remove it from visibility and hide it.
  • Swiping through your Home screen pages will not display any Home screen pages that do not have a checkmark next to them.
  • By tapping the circle symbol and adding a tick, you may unhide this page of applications if you change your mind.

Methods for Hiding Apps from Purchase History in the App Store

Anyone in your Family Group can view and download the applications you've purchased and downloaded if you have Family Sharing enabled.

You may remove some apps from your App Store purchase history if you wish to keep them secret. Don't worry; whenever you need them, you can always uncover concealed app purchases.

  • Tap on your profile icon in the top-right corner of the App Store app while it is open.
  • To see a list of the applications you've already bought from the App Store, tap Purchased.
  • Swipe left on the app after finding the one you wish to hide.
  • To remove your app from the list of apps you've bought from the App Store, tap Hide.
  • Repeat for any other applications you wish to conceal. Tap Done in the top-right corner once you're done hiding applications.

The app will not be deleted or hidden on your iPhone or iPad as a result of this. With this technique, the software is merely hidden from view in the App Store's purchase history. Even if you hide an app from Purchases, you cannot conceal app subscriptions from the Family Organizer under Family Sharing. Want to locate concealed App Store purchases? Not to worry; it's simple.
