The Gray Man Review

The Gray Man makes a grave error in treating it as a franchise right away. You are never really given enough time to become invested in any of the interesting individuals or their incomplete backstories since there are so many of them crammed into a packed loop. Instead, their eccentric one-liners serve to define them! The script by Joe Russo, Christopher Markus, and Stephen McFeely is more concerned with the well-planned, opulent action scene pieces than it is with advancing the plot.

Speaking of the action scenes, there are a total of 9 of them, and they range from amazing to tedious. The knife fight between Ryan, Ana, and Dhanush is one of the highlights because it gives the actors a chance to breathe and experience the brutal combat's impact.

Final Word On The Gray Man Movie

In all honesty, I can give The Gray Man the benefit of the doubt because you're likely seeing this movie mostly for the action-packed blockbuster experience and wouldn't mind a shoddy storyline. But anyone hoping for a masterpiece of a Ryan Gosling vs. Chris Evans film is going to be sorely let down because most of their scenes are just tedious phone calls. The few scenes where the two fall together is the scenes that steal the show.
